Film-maker Drew McFadyen having personally experienced the impact of NHS cuts. Frustrated at continuing poor health and care. Wanting do something. Despite battling with on going health issues. Teamed up with GP and Campaigner Dr Bob Gill. To help Dr Gill bring his campaigning to a wider audience.

Over three years. Drew produced The Great NHS Heist Film. its theatrical trailer and over 50 items and video reports. Covering and supporting Dr Bob Gill’s NHS campaigning.

The NHS has been quietly transformed from a public health system designed to deliver health care to everyone based on need in the most cost efficient manner,  to one designed to maximise profit extraction by global private health insurance giants.
Switching to this model, based on the American system, amounts to one of the greatest betrayals of the public interest by successive Governments, Conservative and New Labour.
Debts, fragmentation, cuts and closures have left the NHS on it’s knees as we enter the final stage. Staff culls, increasing use of temporary agency staff, degrading of training infrastructure and eroding employment rights prior to corporate takeover.

The Great NHS Heist explains what's happened over the last 40 years to our NHS as its quietly transformed to an American style profit driven business.

Once judged as the finest, most cost efficient health service in the world, the NHS is now in mortal danger – due to ruthless government privatisation plans. Are the British people fully aware of this? Or have they been sidetracked by the propaganda of so-called austerity.
